I use oil paints to create most of my paintings - buildings, quirky streets, tiled facades, lovely windows and doors.
Having been born and raised in the center of Lisbon, I find the vibrant white light of the city with its colorful buildings and streets the most meaningful inspiration for my art. My pieces are always created with some abandon and creative liberty as far as colors and geometries, resulting in bold, bright, daring pieces. The vibrancy that I experience just by walking the streets of Lisbon, is a thing of beauty, and at times a magical, disconcerting moment emerges. Those are the moments I want to paint. And by painting them, I hope I can transport others also to this magical space of colors and the latent pulse that I call the heart of the city.
